Parking

I managed to find a road space on Church Lane near the top but these are limited. If none there, then there are lots more spaces along the road by The Plough pub, but will add 5 or 10 mins to the walk going up Church Lane to the start.

Terrain

Hilly here. First part to get the the top not that steep and quite easy. The way back is much steeper down and ups. Mainly chalk paths, muddy and dry uneven in parts. Several stiles although all had dog doors which Hank fitted through with a little space only to spare!

Water

No water here

Poo Bins

Poo bin just by the road at the top of Church Lane

Local Info

You can see the Jack and Jill Windmills from the top - check out that walk for another route.

Author Review

Heading up Church Lane go straight over along The Wyshe and the path starts dead ahead past the little playground. The first 10 minutes or so are a narrow pathway up, which eventually comes out at a bit of a clearing with several routes. I went pretty much straight over through the gate and into the large field, and this path takes you all the way to the top of the hill, there is one narrow gate on your right through one of the fences near the top.

The way down is effectively going right from the the direction you entered down the steep hill. We walked around the top for a bit first to take in the views across all directions - bit foggy today but could still see for miles.

At the bottom of the hill just follow the path round to your right, and eventually you'll come to the steep and winding main chalk bridleway (you can see this from the top to get your bearings) which takes you back to the clearing you've already been at, so go back on the path you came in on from here and you're on the way back.

Quite busy here but not crowded at all, lots of walkers and lots of horses (I think must be a riding school close as passed several groups of riders). The fields have lots of livestock too so we were on lead the whole way.
