Parking

Several laybys along Sandy Lane, we managed to park opposite the poo bin right at the start of the path. if yiu go too far there is quite a deep ford so watch out for that, and no need to go that far anyway.

Terrain

Nice flat walk, mainly sandy heath paths. On my route there is a way-point added saying boggy narrow path, having gone further along im pretty sure that bit wasnt a path at all so if yiure following my route best just ignore that bit, but plenty of other paths to take if you just go back a lottle bit!

Water

Please ignore photos, there is no longer any accessible water here!!! At time of going I saw no signs, but have since learnt that there are now signs up and that dogs are not allowed in the water here to protect wildlife.

Poo Bins

Author Review

***Update 4th July 2024. Thanks to Instagram user Bodhi for lettign me know that since I visited there are no lots of signs saying dogs are not allowed in the water here to protect wildlife! So apologies for misleading photos, but still an absoultley beautiful are worth visiting regardless in my opinion. ***

Walking from the car we headed left at the first junction along the wire fence, and through the pines we came to the first pond called Axe Pond which is stunning with the hills in the background, shallow beach areas, and you can walk all the way round. About half of this walk is ducking through narrow rhododendron tunnels but thats pretty fun too.

From there we just explored and headed toward the hills, these are called The Devils Jumps and really ads to the pretty scenery. I didnt really find a way up them though, much of that area was fenced off but were some paths I didn't take so may have missed it!

It really is a perfect dog walking location, lots of great open areas and surprisingly quiet too woth only a handful of other walkers around.

Something not quite right?
