Parking

Decent sized car park next to the church. Closed overnight (see picture of sign for details), maximum stay 6 hours, maximum height 1.95m.

Terrain

Mostly flat except some steps in the woods, very muddy when we went. Had to walk along a short stretch of quiet country road. Multiple stiles, one of which had barbed wire (shown in picture) and another one our lab barely fit under so larger dogs would have to be lifted.

Water

Stream in woods, accessible for dogs to have a paddle.

Poo Bins

Poo bin in the car park (other side of fence at the far end of the car park).

Local Info

Author Review

Coming out of the car park, cross the road and head right until just past the Plough Inn pub, then the footpath is on your left. The first part of the walk is through fields where Stella was able to go off lead and have a run. We then went left into the woods, where there was a stream which dogs could have a paddle in. There are some steps in the woods which were very muddy when we went. We then went slightly off to the right where the footpath runs along two more fields then back into woodland. Turn right once you reach the fence, and follow the path to a stile leading into a big field. This stile had barbed wire over the hole so be aware of this if you have a large dog, Stella got under no problem though. Eventually you come out onto a road, go right then take the next road off to the right. The next section of the walk we decided to keep Stella on lead as there was barbed wire running along the footpath then we came to a field with a sign warning of sheep. There are two more stiles which large dogs may need lifting over. We then took a right which leads back to the same fields as the start of the walk. Overall this was a really nice walk with some lovely fields and woodland and plenty of space for dogs to be off lead. It was muddy when we went so suitable footwear will be needed if you go in winter! The walk took us around an hour and a quarter but there are paths you could take to make it longer if you wanted. It was fairly quiet when we went but we saw a few people and a big group of dogs who we think were from the local dog daycare!
