Parking

*Small car park, space for around 6 or 7 cars. Google Ref 50.867629, -0.345611 and W3W ///facing.rested.amused. With limited parking, probably recommend planning a back-up route too if you head here!

Mostly chalk paths, with few grassy/mud bits. If you go through the woodland bit some sections are very narrow and uneven, but can easily be avoided if that's an issue. no stiles, few gates, and livestock around.

No bins here

Local Info

There are mountain bike trails a bit further on than I went - you can see the windy paths on the hills as you come out of the woods. Is also a paragliding place too which you may see in nice weather.

Author Review

Even from the car park the views are great here, and for a downs walk it's nice sometimes to park at the top rather than having a big climb!

From the car park we headed along the path that runs adjacent to the road, which then crosses the road right by the old war lookout thing (?!! apologies for historical ignorance) and then the gravel path takes you through the next field.

At the top of this field we took the path diagonally right, and once on that path kept left which takes you through a woodland trail along the top edge of the bowl. In truth we chose this route thinking the views would be better along here but in truth the path is very overgrown and whilst you do catch glimpses of the views through the trees, most of the way it's just small tree trunks, brambles and nettles either side that you can see!

As you come out of the woodland bit go left past the next field, then left again and you're back on the main track home.

With any downs walk do expect other walkers and cyclists. There are lots of livestock here too but in fenced off fields so not directly en-route.

Whilst the views are wide and open, the pathways are pretty much all fenced off from the fields so nice long paths to walk on but no real large expanses for dogs to run around but a nice walk nonetheless.
