Is quite hilly here with some steep sections. Lots of routes to choose though, good pathways that are chalk and gravel laid but bumpy in parts, and muddy trails if you head away from the main routes - no stiles that I came across.

Poo Bin right at the start of the walk by the car park entrance

Author Review

Slindon estate is an area that engulfs a large expanse of land in The Downs with some beautiful forests and a huge network of pathways and routes. If you go through Slindon village there are lots of places to park and access the walks so I intend to head back with some more options, but parking where I did on Nore Wood Lane gives you great access to the estate with various routes to explore.

I went on a sunny weekend and whilst there were several cars in the car park, it wasn't busy so lots of open areas for Hank to run, only going on the lead because he was pestering a spaniel! It is used by horses and cyclists so just be aware of that.

An apology! My intention here when I set out was to reach Nore Folly, having gone nearly 3km and having problems with my phone, it seemed like on my my route I was not going to be able to reach it - it was a hot day so I decided to head back the way I came before Hank was too worn out. It wasn't until I got home and checked my route map and realised just how close I actually was if I'd have kept going, so very frustrating! I will go back and re-do the walk to include the Folly, and whilst my walk today was a bit of a failure and I wouldn't recommend following my route, for now I wanted to include it on the site anyway as it's a lovely area that I'm sure you'll enjoy if you visit and explore your own routes.
