Parking

Small car park - only space for a dozen or so cars at best. Is a second car park which looks like it links up to same route about half way along which may be worth a try but I've not been there to try myself: Drove Ln, Chichester PO20

Terrain

Nice flat walk. Some sections bit boggy still from wtter weather, but mostly is alternative gravel path to use

Water

If you want to play on the sand plan around low tide.

Poo Bins

Poo bin at path junction about 100m from car park. No others seen.

Author Review

It's a there-and-back route here rather than a loop but the route couldn't be easier. From the car park head down the path, turn right, keep on that path and it will literally lead you round the nature reserve eventually ending up at the beach.

One great thing here is that there are effectively two parrelel paths - one which is a bit wider where horses and cyclists are allowed, and a narrower one on the grass through the shrubs. Especially if you have a nervous or reactive dog - like we do it was nice and easy top switch paths if someone was coming the other way to avoid passing too close.

It is of course subjective, but this is one of my favourite discoveres since doing this site. The landscape through the nature reserve is beautfiful as you walk through the broom (I think! spiky yellow shrub/plants!) and look over the flats with tidal streams and weather beaten trees.

Just before you get to the beach there are some what look like man made pools but may be natural, but either way are fenced off to protect the birds and there are so many various chirps and tweets, and different birds around we spent a while just watching them here so twitchers will love it.

The path going onto the beach ends in an abrubt cliff, but you can walk doen to the beach and as always go at low tide and there's plenty of shallow sandy beach to play in. It's a unique beach with old worn groynes and rock defences so lots of photo oppotunities or just nice scenery to take in in the moment. It's not exaclty easy to get to so whilst I've not been here on a peak summer's day I'd be surpirsed if it's anywhere near as busy as nearby Wittering's or Hayling Island.
