This route starts from the Gradbach car park, very easy to find and free but it's not the largest car park so if you are heading here during peak holiday times I strongly suggest you get there reasonably early. It also has a river running alongside it so if your dogs paws get muddy on the walk it's a great place to get them to wash them off before getting back in the car.
This is a woodland style area with large rock formations. There is also sections of boarded walkways. We didn't have to go over any stiles on this route. The route is well laid out but you can go off exploring at different points.
A couple of areas on this route where you can get down to the streams and have a paddle.
There are only bins at the car park.
We intended to walk from Luds Church along to the Roaches but it was Christmas when we did this walk and got to Luds Church a bit later than planned and were then losing the light by the time we got to the turn to head over to the Roaches to make it a circular, so we are intending to go back next year to do both locations in one walk so keep an eye out for that walk on this site.
Luds Church has a mystical feel to it, although the time of year (winter) we went was beautiful I can imagine in the spring/early summer it is even better when there are leaves on the trees and it's not quite as boggy through the woodland sections. It's a real influencers spot to visit so be prepared for it to be busy but don't let it stop you visiting because it is simply gorgeous. There were no grazing animals when we visited, but I can imagine at other times of the year there may be. There are signs that request you keep control of your dogs, but nothing that says they need to stay on lead. We can't wait to go back and visit again, loved every part of this walk.
