We used Oddfellows Road Car Park, its situated opposite the swimming pool and does fill up very quickly so we recommend you get there early and costs £6.00 for all day.
Ticks almost every box well signposted route with hills, stiles, moorland and woodland.
No water here
Only in the villages, none on the route.
The Anglers Rest Community owned pub is directly on this route. A great example of pubs and community diversifying to survive, the building of the Angers Rest hosts a pub, cafe and the local shop and post office. Super friendly and allows dogs inside. A real hub for the local community.
This was an all day adventure, we packed Chilli in our thermos flasks and went on a 17KM adventure which included a pub, church, trig point, doors in the middle of the woods and amazing views from Stanage Edge. We did this walk in September and the weather was perfect and hardly saw a soul on the route until we got to the pub. Usual rules apply over the moorland, on lead due to ground nesting birds etc etc. It really was a great way to spend a day and Riley got to bag another Trig Point.
