Since 1977 leading international artists have created sculptures which you can find along the path ways. Go ape- Certain parts of the woodland, you can look up into the high trees and you will see people zip wiring across the forest. There is a café near the carpark which offers seating inside and out. Cycle trails and other walking trails can be found at Grizedale Forest.
The carpark was easily accessible but there are also a lot of cyclists who use the cycle trails nearby. They do not share the same trails. This is an enjoyable walk which starts off with musical trees and sculptures. The pathways are well maintained by the forestry commission and offer great views around the surrounding area. There is plenty of off lead areas for dogs and generally a quiet walk into the forest. Only part of the walk would be suitable for a pushchair or a wheelchair. There are no facilities to purchase drinks or food around the trail. This walk would suit all the family.
