Parking

We camped at www.glastonburycottagesandcaravanning.co.uk (which we highly recommend) so didn't need to consider any car parks, but there are plenty of car parks in Glastonbury town centre which would be easy to get to the route on.

Terrain

The Tor is on top of a mound so there is a steep bit to get up to the top. There are a couple of stiles and footpath gates to maneuver through on this route.

Water

No water here

Poo Bins

Throughout the town centre there are plenty of bins.

Local Info

This route takes you through the centre of Glastonbury where we stopped off at a few different pubs, out of all of them we highly recommend The King Arthur and The Mitre both will lovely Gardens and very dog friendly. From the campsite we stayed in we could see the Tor so it's a great location to stay if you are visiting the area. They also have cottages holiday cottages for rent too. There is also Glastonbury Ales close to the site as well (Park Corner Farm, Glastonbury BA6 8JY) that has a dog friendly shop and benches outside the shop to enjoy a tipple or two www.glastonburyales.com

Glastonbury Tor is a famous 521-foot conical hill in Somerset, crowned by the roofless 15th-century St. Michael’s Tower. Managed by the National Trust, entry is free and the site is open daily.

Steeped in Arthurian legend and pagan mythology, When we had returned to camp we heard drums and music being played from the Tor and a fire was lit well into the night. Absolutely fabulous views from the summit, and the route we have detailed here also takes in part of the Glastonbury Mural Trail.

The town itself is full of amazing artworks on buildings that may great backdrops for photos of the dog and there is also an independent pet food shop on route so make sure you pop in and support it.
