Wentworth Road Сar Park is a free Car Park and there is also a lovely park opposite the car park too.
Small easy route, we did the route late December and it was quite soggy and muddy underfoot so at that time of year/weather condition we advise wellies. A couple of stiles on this route.
No water here
In Elsecar and Wentworth there are poo bins.
We passed a dog friendly tea room and also went into the Rockingham Arms on this route. Don't forget to add a stick to the Dog Library just before you get to the monument as well.
Needleseye Monument is a pyramid made of sandstone topped with a funerary urn, encompassing an archway of approximately 3-metre (9.8 ft). The wideness of the archway is roughly enough for a coach and horses to pass through, which fits its alleged purpose of creation.
There's no real information about the monument when you are there, really needs some kind of info board. All the pathways are really well laid out and signposted etc and I can imagine in the Spring, Summer, Autumn months the woodlands bits of the walk look lovely.
