There is a car park available at the pub, but we chose to park outside the church instead. As the walk was going to take us a couple of hours, we didn't want to take up valuable spaces in the pub's relatively small car park for the duration of our walk. We were always planning to visit the pub afterwards, so we were still able to support the pub while being considerate of their limited parking.
This is a relatively flat countryside walk, although the terrain underfoot does vary. You’ll encounter the usual woodland paths, uneven ground and bumpy field sections, so sturdy footwear is recommended. There are also a few stiles along the route, but these are all well maintained and easy to climb, making them manageable for most walkers.
Towards the end of the walk, there is a small patch of water that is just big enough for the dogs to enjoy a paddle on a warm day. However, the banks are quite steep, so take care when your dog is getting in and out, particularly if they are excited or slippery underfoot.

This lovely circular walk starts and finishes at The White Horse, a fantastic dog-friendly pub that welcomes well-behaved dogs in both of its bar areas and its restaurant dining spaces. There is also designated dog-friendly accommodation available, so if you're travelling from further afield, why not make a weekend of it? The pub also has a large garden to the rear, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind with your four-legged friend after completing the walk. This is a lovely, peaceful walk. We visited during the summer, when everything was particularly dry, but I can imagine the route becoming quite muddy during the wetter months, so appropriate footwear would be recommended. It's also a wonderfully quiet route. We only came across a couple of other people during the entire walk, making it a great option if you're looking for somewhere peaceful to enjoy some countryside with your dog. As we visited during the summer, there were no grazing animals on the route during our walk. However, livestock may be present at different times of the year, so please be mindful of this and always keep an eye out for animals when walking with your dog.
