There is on the lane parking outside the grounds, can get busy but I've never struggled to get parked up.
A few gates to manoeuvre through but all well maintained by the Castle Estate. You can either use the wall stile to get into the estate or there is a gate around to the left. Well laid out pathways with good signage. Opposite the entrance of the Castle the field the footpath runs through does have a habit of turning into a substantial seasonal water feature, which the dogs love ;) but wellies for the humans are recommended when its been raining!
Seasonal
A couple dotted on this route.
Unfortunately the pub in the village is closed (Saye and Sele Arms) is now closed but in the village of North Newington (on this route) there is the Blinking Owl, make sure you google their opening times though because they do vary, but it's a quirky pub with a great open fire in the winter.
This is a great walk with plenty of off lead opportunities for the dogs and some fabulous trees that are used as road blocks to get them posing on. At various times of the year the grounds of Broughton Castle does have livestock in, this is always well signposted in advance of when they are due, and you can still access the grounds with your dog but they must be kept on a lead. the rest of the route is mainly open country fields so it's not a problem outside the castle grounds. It's been used for filming on many occassions; Feature Films: "The Slipper and the Rose" (1976), "Shakespeare in Love" (1998), "Jane Eyre" (2011), and "The Madness of King George" (1994). Television Series: "Renegade Nell" (2024), "Mary & George" (2024), and "Becoming Elizabeth" (2023).
