There is a free car park right beside the windmill, making it a convenient place to start the walk. However, it can get quite busy, as the car park is also used by visitors to the pub. We recommend arriving with plenty of time to find a space and, as always, parking responsibly and considerately.
As the walk starts at the top of Brill Hill, there are naturally a few small hills to tackle as you make your way around the route and back up towards the windmill. However, nothing is too strenuous, and the climbs are well worth it for the beautiful countryside views along the way.

One of the best things about this route is the option to include pub stop-offs along the way, with both The Pheasant and The Pointer providing great places to stop for some well-earned refreshments before, during or after your walk.
There are plenty of countryside views and opportunities to enjoy some off-lead time, depending on conditions and livestock. As always, keep an eye out for cattle and other animals in the fields and make sure your dog is under close control when needed. A beautiful countryside walk with a historic landmark, gentle hills and the added bonus of two potential pub stops – definitely one to add to your dog-walking adventures!
