We walked from Dunfurlong Far into Bibury and back again, I would highly recommend anyone wanting to go to Bibury to do something similar as it is such a busy place I can imagine parking is horrendous!
Flat walk, most of the pathways are clear and well laid out although we did have to scrape through one that was a little overgrown.
Stream access available on route.
Only in Bibury
Pubs on this route are The Catherine Wheel, which has a gorgeous orchard pub garden and great beers on tap. And on the way back to camp we went to a pub called The Stump, we have driven past this on countless excursions on the Cotswold Way and have always said we should go in but until this walk had ever managed it, it is one of the nicest, friendly pubs we've been to, a real gem of the Cotswolds, great beer, great service and a great beer garden with plenty of food options to choose from, cannot recommend it highly enough. And of course we also recommend the Dunfurlong Camp Site, spotless facilities and a wonderful level area for pitching.
The walk into Bibury itself was lovely but I have to say after this quintessential Cotswold hot spot had been on my wish list for so long I was a little underwhelmed at the place. Now maybe it was the sheer amount of people crammed into visiting the place was disappointing, we will never know, but although pretty, it was far too busy for my liking and ruined the visit a bit, but the pub and the ice cream by the bridge went some way to making it more pleasant. Our advice, by all means go and visit but pick a day out of peak season! Or do the walk and skip out the centre of Bibury itself, the actual walk was lovely!
